WHAT TO KNOW WHEN VISITING THE RACES AT HALLBYSTUGAN

Welcome to Hallby!


Welcome to the UEC MTB Youth European Championships! Further below you will find practical and important information that you need to enjoy your visit to Hallbystugan and Hallby Arena. Please make sure to read this (and the technical guide if you are competing or visit as a team manager). 


Specific information for participants:

- Note the prohibited road on the map.

- Guests staying in the Camp Area (TTC) are kindly requested to use the bike wash designated within the Camp Area as their primary option.

- Showers are located at TTC (Camp Area), located at Axamo Åsens Körgård.

- Fresh water found at Hallbystugen (map) and TTC.

- At Lake Axamo and Camping you also find possiblities to swim, shower.

- Horse trails are strictly forbidden to enter! Ride with care.

- Please keep an eye on your bike at all times and keep it secure during night!

Getting to Hallbystugan, Hallby Arena

By Public Transport

From Jönköping City, take Bus 31 to Axamo Lake.
From there, it’s approximately a 1,5 km walk to the arena.

  • Find your closest bus stop

  • Purchase tickets (can also be bought onboard using credit/debit cards)


By Bike or On Foot

Use the scenic Hallbyleden trail, which connects Jönköping City with the arena.
Distance: About 5 km with a trail surface of asphalt and fine gravel. 
Note: The trail begins with a climb (approx 100hm) but flattens out. 


Parking at the Arena

  • Parking is available on-site at the Arena!
    Payment via Swish (Swedish mobile payment) or credit/debit card 
  • No overnight parking or camping is permitted.


Food and drinks

FC Group provides a selection of hot food, snacks, coffee, and cold drinks in the Arena area.
Vegetarian options are available. Opens on the 5th of August (open Tues-Thurs 9-16, Friday/Sat 9-17). 
You may also bring your own food and drinks, but please keep the nature clean.  

Coffee-truck on site from Monday (12-18) then same as above.  


Toilets

Several toilets are available around the Arena, including accessible facilities.


Track Safety

  • Always cross the race track at designated crossings and only when it's safe.
  • Riders may arrive at very high speeds – please be alert.
  • Volunteers and marshals are stationed to assist with safe crossings.


Other practical reminders

  • Clothing: Weather in Sweden can be changeable — bring layers and rain protection.
  • Payments: At the Arena we accept payment by card (Swish, a Swedish mobile payment app is also commonly used). We do not accept cash payment. 
  • First Aid: Medical staff will be on-site. Contact the nearest volunteer if assistance is needed.
  • Lost and Found: Located at the race office at Hallbystugan.
  • Dogs: Allowed but must be on a leash at all times.


Wi-fi

There are no public Wifi available at the Arena.

Mountainbiking and running at Hallby during the Championships

Due to the many visitors and riders and also due to daily course changes (to prepare for the next event) access to the area is limited. Race course strictly prohibited.

ABOUT 

Welcome to the 2025 UEC MTB Youth European Championships! 


For the second year in a row we welcome the fastest young mountaibike riders to Jönköping. This time to Hallby Arena, on the west side instead of east side of the city. Due to the great cooperation between the clubs; IKHP and Hallby and Destination Jönköping as well as the Swedish Cycling Federation it will be possible to host the event two years in a row. 


The area aound Axamo and Hallby Arena host annual cup competitions and championships in different disciplines (in 2014 the National MTB Championships). The hosting club IF Hallby SOK include mountainbike, cross-country skiing and orienteering amongst it members and events. 


The event consist of several days of racing crowning the Youth European champion in XCC (short track), XCR (Team Relay) and XCO (Cross country olympic) and an initial Timetrial (ITT/XCT). There are 4 different age groups (both boys and girls). U14 (born 2012), U15 (born 2011), U16 (born 2010) and U17 (born 2009), depending on what discipline there will be races per age group or for example only U17 and U15, for example in the mixed Relay-races.

Hallby MTB is located just west of Jönköping and is a mountain bike arena suitable for the whole family. Thanks to the variety of tracks, there is something for cyclists of all ages and experience levels. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced MTB cyclist Hallby has something to offer.
